Gardner, who won the title from 1995 through 1998 before missing the 1999 tournament, posted the low card of 73-40-77 while White Meadow, the 1999 team champion, bested defending champion Mountain Lakes by 12 strokes to regain the championship. Barbara Bertschy of Mountain finished second with a 91 on nines of 47-44 while there was a tie for third at 92 with Jean Costello of White Meadow and Nancy McGavin of Indian carding identical 44-48 scores. Kim Douglas of Rainbow finished in fifth place with a 42-52-94.. Rainbow Lake's Alexis Gardner repeated as the 2001 Hub Lakes Women's Golf Champion on Thursday at Farmstead. Gardner, who won the title from 1995 through 1998 before missing the 1999 tournament, posted the low card of 73-40-77 while White Meadow, the 1999 team champion, bested defending champion Mountain Lakes by 12 strokes to regain the championship.
Barbara Bertschy of Mountain finished second with a 91 on nines of 47-44 while there was a tie for third at 92 with Jean Costello of White Meadow and Nancy McGavin of Indian carding identical 44-48 scores. Kim Douglas of Rainbow finished in fifth place with a 42-52-94.

The defending champions from White Meadow finished third, trailing Mountain Lakes by 54 strokes. Alexis Gardner of Rainbow, who claimed individual low honors from 1995 until Jean Costello of White Meadow won last year's event, returned to the winner's circle, carding an 18-hole round of 85. Barbara Bertschy of Mountain Lakes, who tied for low honors in 1994, occupied the runnerup slot with a 91 while her teammate Iris Smith placed third with a 93. Tied for fourth with 101s were the Estling duo of Kay Bischoff and Dot Zaleski. 2000 Hub Lakes Men's Golf Tournament

Cedar, Indian deadlock for team title; Richards cards low honors

Cedar Lake and Indian Lake finished in a deadheat for first place in the team standings of the Hub Lakes Men's Golf Tournament contested at Farmstead while defending champion Mountain Lakes occupied third place, 16 strokes off the winning pace. This was the second time there had been a tie for the team title as Cedar and Mountain shared the 1995 championship. Indian Lake was led by Kevin Richards who carded the low round of the competition, posting an 18-hole total of 73 while Cedar Lake was sparked by Frank Russo who was runnerup in the individual standings with a 74. Indian Lake's Mark Pennington, the defending individual champion, placed fourth with a 78. mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
